Service Description
Through interactive discussions, case studies, and experiential exercises, therapists will gain a deeper understanding of how to leverage nature's innate healing qualities to support their clients on their path to healing. Join us as we discover together the profound impact of nature in therapeutic work and unlock new avenues for transformation and renewal in client care. Participants will receive a free PDF copy of the book Trails of Healing: A Therapist's Guide to Nature Informed Grief Therapy. Learners Will Experience: Experiential Learning: Engage in nature-based experiential activities such as nature walks and outdoor mindfulness practices to personally connect with the healing power of nature and gain insight into its potential impact on the grieving process. Encourage learners to keep a nature journal where they document their observations, emotions, and reflections while spending time in nature. Use these journals as a basis for discussion and self-reflection on the interconnectedness of nature and grief. Objectives: Understand the theoretical foundations of nature-informed grief counseling, including ecopsychology and biophilia, to effectively integrate nature-based approaches into therapeutic interventions. Identify the unique benefits of incorporating nature into grief counseling sessions, such as promoting relaxation, facilitating emotional expression, and fostering a sense of connection and belonging. Explore various nature-based interventions and techniques, such as ecotherapy, mindfulness in nature, and nature-based rituals, to address different aspects of the grieving process and enhance therapeutic outcomes. Develop skills in conducting nature-based assessments to evaluate clients' relationship with nature, identify nature-related sources of support and resilience, and tailor counseling interventions accordingly. Preparations Needed: 1. Please bring a basket filled with loose nature items such as stones, sticks, flowers, pine cones, sea sponges, shells etc to the webinar 2.
